Don't pull the head, you can do this.
You need a break and to think your way through it. Are you a strong backyard mechanic or relatively new to this stuff?
If new, you need someone with some experience to help you through this. Someone with knowledge and tools to do this right.
I ended up with the same two broken ones, check out my thread for ideas.

Ya it sucks, not a fun job at all, especially if you are not used to extracting broken bolts. There are an endless number of tips and tricks, some of which take some experience to accomplish well.
Good luck, I hope the shop works out well.

first quote was $600, that was labor on the timing chain set and oil pump... wouldn't give me a quote on the studs, said he'd just have to see if he could get it. the mechanic was familiar with doing the broken studs, said he had did it before with an engine out of the truck and said it was tough... called another shop, waiting on them to call me back...

second guy got back to me...$150 to get the broken studs out and replace... needless to say, I'm hauling it to him in the morning... going to hold off on the timing set until this summer to save up some money...

Wow, that's a no brainer! I haven't paid anyone to work on a vehicle in my entire life (45 years) other than a tranny rebuild once. But I'm gonna bite it and pay someone to do my manifold. Been putting it off for 2 years now because I'm afraid to tackle it after hearing all the horror stories
