Default Exhaust or Intake Leak?

ok so originally I had my truck serviced and was told to change the vct solenoid because I had no power. Fast forward about a year my cats got clogged and o really lost power. After a trip with the cats clogged (before I knew) and a few check engine lights my car began to have a diesel tick. Was told it was the cam phaser and they wanted to lock out the phaser. Instead I got the cats cut off and the check engine light went away but the diesel tick stayed (I was saving up for the lockout kit) about 2 weeks later I go to start up my truck and it's really rough sputtering and almost stalls out. I got it scanned and all they could find was misfires on 3,4 and 8. Changed the coils and it made a slight difference but not really. Didn't bother changing the plugs since the guy who tuned it did it a year ago. Side note: the truck has been leaking coolant for the past year and a half. Very slowly. I changed the o ring from the thermostat housing and it looked pretty bent. The truck still is misfiring within the first 1000 rpms, misfiring 3,4 and 8 and random misfires.

No other codes. Was told to replace intake manifold by one person, he said a smoke test wasn't going to show the leak and was told to change the exhaust manifold by another person.

Not sure what to do any help would be appreciated.

Also the truck runs semi ok up the 40mph and under 2000rpm. Anything after that I can hear knocking and crazyness. Also truck stalls on inclines and in reverse. Not always but mostly. Smells kick it's running rich and Always rough on idle.
