I was just suggesting what I would do if I only had a very small budget but still wanted some sound. I would have just swapped in a different muffler and put a nice tip on the factory system. A muffler and tip could be had and installed in the driveway for $100 give or take.

The MF 40 system I have on it has way to much drone for my taste (guess I'm getting old) so i am goign to go with something to quiet it down a bit. I literaly saw no difference in MPG, power, throttle response, or really anything going from the stocker to the FM duals. Only thing it got me was a bunch of drone at 60-65mpg and a bunch of leaks because it is a clamp together system that just didnt last.

Plus the wife and I are going to start with the baby making and we took my 3mo only niece for the weekend a couple weeks ago (who always sleeps in the car) and she cried the whole time in my pickup, as there is so much drone.

Do not get Super 40s. I come home with a headache all the time from the drone. I'll be installing something different when the warmth comes back around. Probably some magnaflows or something

My friend has a 50 series on his, and unfortunately, the drone is just as bad. Only difference is he has a supercab and 2.5" duals and I have 2.25" both have 3.5" tips that rear exit.

If you do your own labor you will save a TON of money.. most of time simple hand tools we all own will be ok..

leaks.. if your afraid of leaks have it welded (having it welded though means not easily removed)

Im installing mine.. a Single in Dual out 3" pipes with 3.5" tip. w/muffler. for under 400.00

This is kind of what mine will sound like.. however im also doing long headers..
