Default exhast ideas 5.4

hi so I know there are alot of threads on exhaust systems but I have a few different questions. So I want my stock 5.4 to sound more aggressive so here are my thoughts. I love how quiet these trucks are stock at certain times but there's others when I want to hear that v8 but I don't want to break the bank doing it so I was thinking about a cat back exhaust or a exhaust cut out before the muffler. does anyone know what the pros and cons of each are and I have gear some stories of our trucks running lean. any input would be great thanks

Exhaust won't make the truck run lean. That would be from an aftermarket cold air intake without custom tune. Best bang for buck will be a muffler swap or cat back setup. You can just buy the muffler online and have a local shop weld it in and run piping.

ok so as off the moment I think I am leaning towards the electric cut out simply because I can have my truck very quiet then screaming loud at the flip of a switch that part I like but the reason I say that I don't want to damage my motor is I've heard people say that if u run a vehicle with out a muffler it will burn the exhaust valves I would be putting the cut out just in front of the muffler so it would be as far back in the system as I could get. if anyone knows that would be sweet

My flow master tail pipe rusted off my truck (had a cut-back when I brought it). So I'm looking for one to I'm leaning toward the mbrp cat-back si/do one xp one for 409 from auto anything. Or the America thunder from flowmaster but that's more $$.both have good sound from what I can tell.

I had a Dynomax on mine originally, but that was from the previous owner. It fell apart. I have a Borla Cat-Back now. Check out "Goodbye Dynomax Hello Borla" for the thread.

They definitely are expensive exhausts. I paid about $1,000 for mine and that's with shipping and duties. Depending on your price range, you can even fabricate one for far less or have one fabricated for you.
