Those are pistons that have run lean from an intake.

Is the lean issue only on 5.4's? And if it is 4.6's too do I need to worry bout it with a drop in k&n filter and gotts mod

The Gotts mod doesn't change the flow past the MAF so there's no worry of it with that. I would advise to look at the links about filtration efficiency with the oiled filter.

I've ran k&n's on everything I've owned and never had a problem yet... My 2002 gt had 149,000 miles and 100,000 was with a k&n and its still had good compression test numbers... I believe it's all about how the person oils them and maintains them personally now this is just my opinion .... Thanks for the input though...

Thunder got the Tranny Flush done finally, so I should be good for a long time! Dealer quoted me $200 for the 2.5" leveling kit install AND alignment, so that'll be my next target when I get paid again!

lol I'm not seeing the debate? Facts are there. Started out as complimenting your truck and trying to help you get all you can out of it for years to come.
