Default ENGINE Performance rebuild 4.6

Is there any options or routes that I can take to get more power out of my 2008 f150 with the 4.6, wanting to do a rebuild for a prerunner project and was seeing my options for power and tourque gains

What kind of numbers are you looking for? What is your budget? Forged rods, pistons, supercharger cams, mild porting job then throw whatever forced induction you want and you are good to well over 550 HP very safely. Cast 4.6 cranks have been fine for 600+ HP with a supercharger.

I'm looking to get about 500 hp and not just absolutely break the bank! I want some power but I don't need insane amounts! What is a good mods list to get there?

Well 500 at the crank is easy with a ford racing supercharger. You may have to adapt something from a s197 but it the 550HO kit for mustangs would fit the bill without tearing the motor down and forging the internals. You would be very close to what the dinky stock 4.6 rods can handle though.

Would you say doing like 450 is more do able and not having to tear down the internals and all?

Yes. You should be fine with a good tune and supercharger at that power level.

Probably need a dollar amount not a general statement. What I think would break the bank is probably quite a bit less than what it would take to attain your goal.

I am willing to spend around $8k-$10k for the motor rebuild, what about the tranny? Will the stock tranny be okay with a tune and supercharger?

I am looking to try and not use forced induction, what are some ways that I can get some power out of my 2008 f150 with the 4.6 with internal mods and external mods, I'm trying to steer away from forced induction and keep it all motor

Cams, long tube headers, head porting, larger maf tubed intake and a really good tune.
