Engine block drain+Installing new radiator
#11
I unscrewed the fittings from my new radiator, I was wondering about unscrewing the fittings from the radiator itself and insert the old ones with sealant?
These are from my old radiator

That doesn't show much.... you have to hold them up to / align them with where they need to go and then take a picture, I have no idea how big or small they are in relation to what they're supposed to go on

My old ones are too big to just screw in
So I wanted to if I could unscrew the brass piece from the radiator itself and input the old ones or would it ruin the radiator??

Depends. If you're absolutely set on using that radiator and not sending it back and getting the right part or an adapter like you SHOULD be doing, you could try to tap that hole and see if you can thread it in there... that would be risky, though. Those threads would come awfully close to the thickness of that inlet.

What I would be doing is cleaning up the old one and looking for a part number on it somewhere.

I see no reason why that wouldn't work. Just put some teflon tape on all the threads like any other joint you want to keep sealed and keep on trucking. Reusing the fittings isn't going to hurt anything. They look like the right size to replace the existing ones. As I said in my earlier post that's exactly what I did on my explorer and it's been fine ever since.
