Default Emergency Park Brake

Hi there, the parking brake light started turning on even when i am driving but then dissapears after about 10-20 minutes. It kinda goes on and off. Sometimes it doesnt even come on at all until i press on the actual parking brake. Is there something wrong with some sort of a sensor? Please advise

Check your brake fluid level. Could be an indication of low fluid in the reservior, time for brakes, brake system leak(most likely not your concern) or a faulty level indicator in the reservior. How many miles you have on your truck?

My truck is an '04 with 200k on it and the same thing happens to me. The pedal falls down ever so slightly. I just lift it back up with my foot and it is good for another 10-15 days or a very bumpy road.

Hi there, i have about 97,555.52 miles on the truck. Brake fluid is near max.
The light does go off though after 10-20 minutes when i start driving. Sometimes it doesn't even come on at all.

My front rotors are quite bad though, it isn't smooth to the surface and already has grooves in it. But i didn't feel any vibrations/grinding/jerking when i apply the brakes so i thought it could do for awhile till i change the whole rotors and brakes. Could that be it?

Hi thanks, i did try that but it doesn't do that. I tried applying park brakes, the light goes on, and then i release the parking brakes and the light goes off.

Hi,
I replaced both front rotors and calipers and also had master cylinder replaced. After i took it to a brake shop and had them bleed the whole system and still my parking brake light stays on. I dont feel any resistance when driving but still im concerned. If anyone has any clue it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Look at the rear parking brakes to ensure they are releasing all the way...may need new one's...you can also adjust the parking brake cable.
