front end shaking at 40+ speed ..one place says tie rods and wheel bearing 2nd opinion say emergency brake is sticking/rubbing and tie rods and such were fine anybody else?

Emergency brakes are at the rear wheels....I don't see how this would cause your front end to shake. You'd smell the e-brake shoes if they were stuck to the inner race of the rear rotors. Try having the front tires rotated to the rear. At the same time, have all four tires balanced.

Other than front end suspension wear (yes ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, etc.), the tires could be out of balance, or one (or more) tire(s) could have a inner belt seperating.

Is this truck lifted; did you or someone install a lift kit?

already had tires rotated... there is noise coming from rear...2nd opinion said wheel bearing ,tierods, ball joints fine..1st opinion said to replace these... dealership told us to check emergency brake ..... no lift

The TSB about the parking brake cables only applies when you get a shake in the steering when slowing down between like 40 and 50.

My truck (06 screw 4X4) has a wicked shake in it after I use the emergency brake. The wipers will bouncs off the windshield and everything. Usually I pull over and come to a complete stop and then take off again and everything is fine. It will happen once I hit speeds of around 50mph

Had similar symtoms, shudder when braking, replaced front rotors and helped a bit but shudder was still present so I researched and found the e brake acts up due to rust. After pulling the rear discs off, found one side e brake shoe had a lot of rust on it and was not in the normal closed position, and the mechanism was rusted slightly as well. Cleaned the mechanism, and put anti-seize on the moving surfaces of the E brake mechanism, cycled the E brake 3-4 times to get the anti seize to coat the surfaces, re-assembled, and brakes are smooth as butter again. In my case I surmised that the E brake sticking was enough to either cause the shudder directly, and / or it may have been introducing enough resistance to possibly affect the ABS control due to uneven stopping of the wheels. Not sure, but if rotors have been replaced, turned and / or ruled out as the cause, strongly recomend taking a peek at the E brake. E brakes on rear wheels only. Hope this helps.

I had a similar problem and found it to be my rear caliper sticking. If your parking brake or caliper is sticking, you'll feel heat radiating from the wheel when you stop. If your rotors are cool to the touch, it's most likely something else.

yep... definately sounds like the ebrake... get down there with a hammer and slightly hit the lever that the cable is on... it should fully release... i had the same problem when I first bought the truck
