Emergency brake light wont turn off....
Hey guys/gals. I was changing my oil yesterday and set the e-brake for the first time for cautionary reasons. After finishing up the job, I let the e-brake go, but to my dismay the light stayed on. Now I had to drive to town to recycle my oil and didn't notice any adverse driving manners...so I assumed the light sensor was stuck or something.
Anybody ever run into this on a 2004+ F150? If so, any remedies?
I haven't checked the brake fluid yet. For some reason that didn't even dawn on me to check yesterday. Again, I just assumed it was a sensor.
FYI, I did search, but couldn't find anything particularly related to this specific issue.
Thanks for any advice!

Check the switch/wiring at the e-brakes upper pedal. Get on your knees and look up at the drivers side left kick panel. A flashlight will come in handy.
Brake fluid level has nothing to do with the e-brake warning light. You may also want to try setting and then releasing the e-brake again to see if that will release the switch that's setting the e-brake warning light in the cluster.

Well that was a waist of a thread ;-). It seems my e-brake lever has lost it's spunk and has gotten soft.
If I pull and hold the release and manually pull up on my e-brake pedal about 1/2" the light will go off.
Sorry to waist time and forum space. Mods feel free to remove.
Thanks!
