Default electrical issue need help please

OK so tonight when I left work I noticed that my hi beam indicator was on as were my fog lights however my hi beams were not on by the multi function switch so I tried to use the hi beams when I pull back to flash them the lot on the dash lights up but no hi beams when I push forward all of my lights go dead but still have the dash indicator on. Now when the foods are on as I said the dash indicator is also on but it is faint or not as bright as the hi beams. What could cause this I changed my headlamp bulbs out about a month ago or so to 5000k 55/65 watt super white bulbs off eBay and haven't had an issue I had an issue with the fog bulbs bit replaced them immediately. Please help I know nothing when it comes to electrical Thanks

Unfortunately this is one of those type of "Hands on" situations where you need a tech with the skills to trace down and pinpoint the problem, it could be as simple as a bad bulb but could also be something electronic.

Try disconnecting your battery terminals and touch them together then try your lights. You probably have a short like I do but give that a shot and let me know

Good Mawnin';

You can try to use the state diagram to diagnose yer switch:

If the switch checks out, it may be a grounding issue.

Full diag thread for someone with similar symptoms found here: http://www.f150online.com/forums/ele...f-its-bad.html

For the MFS, you should be able to find similar diags via Google... (or *cough* Rnlcomp *cough* could post up an MFS state diagram...). OR - you could look in that thread and follow the links to the archive of schematics - the MFS diag state digrams are also in there if you dig around enough - (e.g: http://www.f150online.com/forums/mem...-mfs-turn.html )

Best of luck

Don't know what year truck they are working on, if I am to assume it's an 08 per the screen name then I wouldn't have it any way, I have info for 96-99, 04-05, and 13 only.

I wouldn't want to put info out there not pertaining to the actual year model, Fords manuals are not known for their greatest accuracy.

I am Goin to put my old bulbs back in and see if it's these cheepo bulbs from eBay if so I'll go pick up some new ones from the parts house. If not a few people have mentioned the MFS I'll look into it also. I never use my high beams it just bugs me that something is wrong with my baby lol
