The fuse is blowing right way the instant I turn the key on. So I think a power wire is grounding out some where. I have disconnected every thing that I can. Park aid sensors, abs module and sensors, pcv, ac pressure switch and the damn thing still blows.

Driving lights are fine. Only the reverse lights are out. Whats a hec test? That something the dealer has to do?. Im going to make it a late night tonight and see if i can find the culprit as i wont be off work till 9.

OK your reverse lights are out, thas it. Reversing lamp switch is on this circuit. Maybe even frame wiring damage back there.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if it were to be the reverse sensor wouldnt it blow only when I go into reverse? As of now it blowing as soon as i turn the ignition on.

You said your reverse lights are not working, it is in the fuse circuit so trouble shoot the reverse light circuit and see if it is faulty. It is possible the frame area of the harness has been damaged ? Have you checked for a body code. Pesky squirrels and rodents. LOL Just the other day I had to chase a squirrel away and he left a hickory nut husk on my right motor mount. There is an area of the frame they like to get into by the right motor mount I guess.

Yeah reverse lights are good as i did a continuity test on them and it checked out. Also inspected the rear for any wire damage and found none. I also disconnected the cruise control break deactivator switch and still nothing. I also checked some wire looms that run down next to the trans but didnt see any thing that looked bad. Do you think it could be the cruise control swith in the steering wheel? The fuse blows when I start the truck. It will hold if I turn key all the way but dont start it but once I start it she blows. Just kind of stumped. When it blew the first time I was pulling a trailer with about 8000lbs on it and has the cruise on and hit the cst/set button to increase my speed a little and thats when it blew.

In your first question, even if you jumped it I would add an inline fuse to the jumper as you can never be too safe. If you tie-in, you're back-feeding the circuit anyways so you're probably just going to blow the new fuse haha. I think the computer cycles the A/C depending on your mode anyways, especially in defrost so I don't think this is the best route.

Do you have anything aftermarket added in? Remote start, alarm, reverse camera, etc...? Check your floorboards for water (especially if remote-start or alarm added). Either way, it sounds like a dead short somewhere and more likely in the wiring if you've disconnected most of the stuff on that circuit and had no luck.

I see Fuse 14 powers Auxilary Box 1 (under the hood) and there's a start diode... Can you test the diode and make sure it's not allowing continuity both directions? I've attached a diagram.

No nothing aftermarket all stock. Ive check for water but have none in the floorboards. Thinking it might be the cruise switch but not sure. Ill check it out tonight.

Not sure if you saw my edit there but I added . You're saying during start it blows? Check that start diode if you can. Might be a longshot as I don't see a link there to fuse 14 other than fuse 14 states to power some of the auxiliary relay box (for DRL's, A/C, etc). You might have a problem in there with one of the relays though.

Also, turn your HVAC to dead off..... then see if it blows (not that I want you to blow more fuses LOL). I don't think it's this but I'm throwing ideas out there.

Could be the cruise... seems odd it blows during start though. Can you literally tell it's once the ignition is in the "START" position? Disconnect the starter solenoid connection by the battery so the truck doesn't start and see if it blows when you have the ignition in the START position as well. Trying to determine if it's once you hit that start position, after the trucks running, etc...
