DON'T TAZE ME BRO !!!
Thread Starter
I have corrected all of the wiring simply by running seperate relays. I did not use a controller (not needed in my opinion). I prefer that the fans run whenever the ignition is on ... the controller to me is just another component that could go bad. Yes it may be preferrable to some, but I think it will be fine. As far as fuses, I use the lowest possible one I can. I would rather blow a fuse than superheat the wiring and burn something up. I ran it most of the day today and no issues (and the wiring did not heat up either).

always dirty
thermostat controller is what you guys need , so your fan will only work harder. when the temp. goes up and slows down when not needed.this will also make your fan to last longer. and won't oveheat I'm not planning to go thisway. but somebody here in the forum.no this engine better than me. to where to add the heat sensor plug. I'm not trying to scared off or smart asses some of you guys .but running without heat sensor .is like looking for trouble. I've seen it happened . just my 2 cent

The DCController bought by the guy that's been doing them for years (Mustangs) is the way to go. It includes a temp probe that detects the heat off of the radiator, and turns on the fans/shuts them off based on a set heat reading (adjustable).
I will also agree that using a temperature probe to regulate the fans is the proper way to go.
It's your truck though. If you choose to use lower gauge wiring and low amp fuses, so be it. Carry a bunch of extras, plus a portable fire extinguisher for safty.
