Default Electric fans

Anybody running electric fans on a 05 f150 5.4 around here? Are they easy to install? Are they problematic? Do they give you horsepower?

There are several threads on this topic that are very informative with writes ups on their install.
Don't expect HP/TQ gains out of them to make them worth the cost. The removal of the clutch fan will reduce wear on the water pump (small, but worthy). Don't expect huge gains in gas mileage either. The largest gain potential though will be A/C efficiency during idle; the stock clutch fan struggles to pull air through both the A/C condenser and radiator in hot summers while in idle conditions.

Like the Nike slogan "Just Do It". It will benefit you especially the A/C. If I get money that will be my next mod for sure.

I've also bee curious about doing that to my '07 but I am not sure if I want to spend $400 on something that isn't broken. I live in southern California so the heat is manageable with my current A/C. there are a few good videos on the web that shows you how to remove the old fan and install the new ones. Worth checking out.

You can get this done for under $250. RockAuto.com has the 09 fans for $155, then just need to get a fan controller. I will be doing this mod here soon.

I started using an e-fan on a 2005 F150; removed it when I sold the truck, placed the same setup on a 2000 Ranger, removed it again when I sold it, and that same setup in now on my current 2007 F150. It's a Mark VIII e-fan using a flex-0-lite controller.

As to noisy?!? Not for me at all.
