Haha thank you!
Over thinking. It would be the same with just the sock fan...there is a "gap" between the fan blades and the shroud on them as well.

Yea once I got it all together I seen its not necessary, that thing will suck a medium sized child through the radiator if the get too close. Kicks ***. Even when the cobtroller is only 60% it kicks ***. 100% cools the truck very quickly. Thanks again man.

Nice work Jake.

One thing though - have you measured the Mark VIII's full-load current draw, and compared it to the maximum current rating of yer chosen controller? And are you using 8awg wiring to the fan?

Thanks

I havnt measured it bit everything I read says it can pull up to 60 on a hard start and pull about 25-30 at 60% and 30-40 at 100%. This in particular controller is good to 45amps and has the soft start feature. Seems to work good sofar. This summer will definetly be the test, but usually this controller runs 2 16" fans, I think it will be fine.and yes 8 guage wire to battery, ground, neg and positive to fan. The trigger for the ac and ignition it 16.

Hey Bucko, I'm have a thread going on my E-Fan conversion, which is the exact same setup as yours. Mark VIII fan with the Ron Francis AR99 controller. The instructions for the controller are written up for dual fans. I have the single fan, two speeds, like you. What color wire on the fan is the high speed? Low speed?

The instructions say:
"Dark Blue (PRIMARY FAN) (12 gauge wire): Connect the blue wire to the module and run the other end to the cooling fan wire. Ground the wire running FROM the cooling fan(s)."

Since we only have 3 wires from the fan, one wire gets grounded, and one wire goes to the high speed, and one wire goes to the low speed, correct?

Hi.

Does this help any?

^^ And - if yer wires colours are obscured - or different - this method will help ye determine which are the low & high speeds.

^^^ Yep, that's correct.

good luck!

Default PCM controlled clutch

So how are you guys getting around the PCM control function for the clutch fan. If you disconnect it, the C.E.L will come. I'm loving the idea of efan conversion, cuz my A/C sux here in AZ but I don't want to deal with the C.E.L. either
