Default Electric Fan Conversion

Hello all. I have a 2008 with a 4.2L and would like to remove the manual fan and replace with an electric fan. Has anyone done this? If so, what did you all use? Pics, links, etc.? Thanks.

To do a stand-alone electric conversion properly, you're going to have to spend a lot of money and I don't see what's to be gained. If low speed cooling is the issue, I'd just put an auxiliary electric pusher on it.

Default Using rf269 motor craft fan with f5 painless controller

There is a nice write up on modifying this ford 2010 fan assemby to the older radiators , Nice pictures-- do efan search on here . The fan is on amazon . I am thinking about this because of the easier access to the engine front . But $600 and a lot of work, I don't know . In my area florida my ac runs all year so my fans would run all the time . There is some kind of speed sensor hookup that may cut out fan at 40mph , don't really want the fans cycling on and off with ac compressor clutch either so I would want to trigger fans ahead of compressor on and off signal ..

I converted my 2005 4.2 V6 to an e-fan setup (did a write up on this site) several years ago using a 2 speed Mark VIII fan out of a Taurus. Paid 50 bucks for it. The controller is key for an e-fan. Do not install an e-fan without a good controller. Do some homework on buying a controller; many good ones out there, as well as cheap. Don't cheap out on a controller!
As to my setup, it was removed from the 2005 when I sold it, installed in a 2004 Ranger, removed when I sold that, and is currently installed in my present 2007 F150 with the 4.6 V8. After 7 years, the used fan is still working (two speed), but I'm on my second controller (current is the flex-o-light). I used to have a DCController controller, but sold it, and due to "conflict of interest" with the person who makes them, I went with the flex-o-lite. Been running with it for 2 years now, no issues. I should also note that if/when my e-fan motor needs replacement, a Siemens replacement can be bought from any good autoparts store for about 60 bucks.

Default Question about clutch fan sensor for a 07 F150 5.4

When you did your conversion on your 07, what did you have to do to bypass/delete the sensor on the stock clutch fan.

I have a 2007 with the 5.4 and I've been wanting to do this upgrade for a while now. So I bought the flex-a-lite 270 duel 15in blade and the instructions don't say anything about what to do with the sensor on the old clutch.

I appreciate any help or advice you can give.
BTW this is my first time on any forum EVER so I hope I posted this right lol
