Edge Programmer Questions

Wise Guy; Probably multiple answers to that question.
Yes higher octane gas will help reduce the knock, but as earlier posters have said is that the edge will cause a lean condition with a cai. Your engine timing has been advanced if it is pinging!
I would just change the programmer. Contact them and let a pro help you out. http://www.truckcustomizers.com/prod...ford-f150.html

I ran an Edge Evolution on my 2001 F250 Superduty with a CAI, Gibson dual exhaust and ported and polished heads. This was before Edge would guarantee it to work with a Superduty. At the time, all they would say is it was meant for a F150. I ran it for 100K like that before selling the truck and never ran lean or pinged.

This is gonna sound like a stuid question... but what is "PHP" and what is Gryphone, and can you explain "custom tunes" (I have the evo and recently installed a K&N CAI...) thanks

I have an evolution on my 08 4.6 with a AEM CAI and haven't had the lean issue in running on level 2 with 89 octane fuel

You can adjust all of those with the edge however with the gryphon you can get custom tunes for your truck to maximize power
