SO I am selling my edge from my 2007 4.6L SCrew. I'm getting this question and need help finding an answer: Will this work in 5.4L as well or just 4.6L's? Anyone know? I cant recall from purchasing. At edgeproducts.com it doesnt distinguish between the two engine sizes on your order. Just says "ford gas". Thanks!!!

I have the Edge programmer on my 2008 5.4L and the guys at edge said it is different than the 4.6l flash. Its not going to reprogram the cpu right. The flash for the 5.4L has a whole different run of parameters in it. Its not going to work right. Hope that helps.

Actually, it should work. According to my Edge owners manual, if your Evo is a model # 15051 it will work on 2004-2008 4.6L and 5.4L engines.

I looked on my programmer. It says EFF2400 Lot# 040704. I can't find anywhere whether this one is 4.6L only or not. Any help? Do I need to give you guys any other numbers or is this what is needed to determine which I have? Again, selling and getting asked if its 5.4 compatible, currently on my 4.6L. Thanks again guys!

Ok, so after looking at the website Edgeproducts.com, all they have is a single option for the 04-08 gas, with no distinguishing between L's. I do notice that if I click on "purchase from edge" that it states:

Old: EEF2400
New: 15051Ford Gas New Evolution - 2004-2008 F-150 Evolution Programmer

Mine, as stated, is the EEF2400. Any help if this is compatible or not will be helpful. I'm thinking its not but we'll see. My truck is an 07 if it matters. Thanks!

Spoke to Bill at PHP and he said it will work for both, just not the v6...

i bought my edge from a guy with a 5.4 and it works fine on my 4.6

So I called Edge yesterday around lunchtime (Central Time) and they said they were busy with tech questions and would call me back. Needless to say I was very skeptic about getting a call. But then, @ 6:30pm, they call, and even though they had been technically closed for 30 minutes (they are east coast, so its really 730 for them). Great customer service!!!!

So the tech said that they work for both 4.6 and 5.4. The only difference between the EEF2400 and the 15051 is just that, numbers. Mine was purchased a long time ago, and hence has the old number. Ford Gas is Ford Gas, regardless of Liters. Hope this helps out anyone else in the future.
