Transmission Failure
My F-150 Harley Davidson 2006 transmission is gone. I mean it does not work. Does not work reverse and drive.
Is this transmission special edition or is a regular transmision and the transfer case do all AWD work?
What do you suggest repair it or get an used from other vehicle?
What is the average cost of rebuild it?

i'm having mine rebuilt as we speak. 2005 F150 with 121k miles. it started off by slipping and then would bang into gear from stop lights. Aamco is doing the work and here is the break down:
$680 to remove, inspect and reinstall
$1780 (includes previous $680) for major overhaul which includes bands, seals, and everything else that typically wears out.
a la carte for any other item that needs replacing. My tq converter was bad along with various solenoids and other things that i can't remember. the tq converter alone was $350.
grand total with tax and one year warranty is like $2600.

That's why I've just changed my trans fluid/filter @ 30K. Couldn't believe the crap stuck on the magnet in the pan-took 5 minutes to clean it up. The dealer just wanted to flush it, w/o changing the filter/dropping the pan-so I said no thanks. I did install Mobil 1 ATF fluid, and it shifts/runs great. The pan gasket is indeed resusable-at least 1 time. The pan came off w/o any problems.

of course, i had a 97 expedition that had 175k on it before i sold it and never had a hiccup with the tranny and no service either.
