Default Edge Evo --> misread gear ratio?

Just got my Edge Evo, and my truck hauls ***. Thanks Gary (ggwash21). Excellent seller, btw. He stayed patient when I f-ed up my paypal when trying to pay him.

So, when the Evo gives you the option to change gear ratio, the manual says it reads the stock ratio (from the PCM), and you adjust from there. Thing is, the Evo read my stock ratio as 3.73, when its actually 3.55. Yes, I am 100% positive on ratio. Door code and axle tag read the same. I'm the 2nd owner (first was my stepfather), so i know nothing was changed.

I went ahead and changed it to 3.55, but it struck me as odd. Has this happened to anyone else?

Did I mention my truck hauls *** now? It had always felt sluggish before, like something was holding it back from its full potential. That something is gone now.

could be. I have not had any problems with the unit, it has worked flawlessly. even though at the beginning, it didn't show me my hex code, like the manual said it would.

it let me make changes, i took it for a spin that confirmed those changes, so i'm happy. that one minor thing was just pecking away at the back of my mind.

I've got the 4.6

and I bought mine used from this site, from the member named above. I just waited until the right deal came along. everything looks brand new, for cheaper than brand new.

i actually can't wait to drive to work tomorrow, haha. And I'm only playing with the level 2 setting. dont want to mess with premium gas

I think I remember reading where some F150s PCM's had the wrong gear ratio programmed into them. I can not remember where I saw it, but I remember reading something similar.

I bought my Edge, and I'm going to just pay Bill to convert it over to the Gryphon unit. Can't beat the price for him to do it.

Unless you buy it used, it will cost more to buy and Edge, get it converted, and then get custom tunes.
