edge evo level 2 or 3

When I had my 05 I ran lvl 2 with custom settings for about 30,000 miles. I decided to switch up to lvl 3 and the increase in mileage paid for itself. Really, the difference between the 2 is night and day and it only cost $4-5 dollars extra to fill up with 93 but like I said, the difference in mileage covers the cost.

I switched mine to lvl 3 about a few weeks ago finally.
I switched it back to 2 after I filled up last night just to see the difference again, and I switched back to level 3 a few miles later.

I ran mine on all 3 to test it out, running a tank of gas on each one. The only time mine leaves lvl 3 anymore is when I switch to lvl 2 to tow my boat. The difference in mileage is enough to justify me leaving it on 3 and paying the extra 10c/gallon of gas.

I just got mine about three weeks ago and i tried it for about 20 miles on each level. I did put 92 Octane in it but decided to run it on a level 2 instead of 3. I thought I would be saving mileage there, but apparently not from what is being said here. Im only averaging about 14 to 15mpg right now.

I personally can't teel the differance between the two. Mine stays on level 2. Also does anybody ever get codes and engine light when running the programer? Can't remember the code but it does it about twice a week usualy in the morning when I first start out and in the same place. Go figure.

Octane
Has anyone running custom settings advanced their timimg according to the Octane they are running? I read in the Evo manual that you can bump it up .5 for each octane point higher than 91. So if you run 93 then you should be able to bump it up 1 degree of timing correct?
