Default Edge with cold air

Hey everyone. New to the forum and have a question that y'all might be able to help with. I have a 2006 f150 5.4 king ranch 4x4. It has an edge evolution tuner and a cold air. The question I have is, has anyone had problems with their tuner reading the mpg different than the truck. I'm able to check the mpg on my dash and have noticed after the cold air that my tuner is reading about 7mpg higher than my truck which I do not believe. When the tuner itself was installed they were dead on accurate with each other. Now not so much. Anyone have this problem before. I'm not having a running lean problem like other people so I'm lucky on that end. Thanks everyone.

You'd have to do a hand calculation to get your actual mpg... I ran the edge CS and cai for months without custom tunes.... 07 KingRanch.. NO ISSUES OR LEAN

I do not have the ability to set what intake I have on my tuner. I know I could always get it upgraded to a gryphon but what I really don't understand is how the intake would make the tuner read that much different. I even called the edge tech support and the guy who answered was of absolutely no help. It kinda sounded like it was his first day and he new nothing about vehicles. I know with the intake that the MAF has to adjust with the computer, but I did not expect it make he tuner read off also.

There is no CAI support on the older basic edge.. Only on the newer CS and CTS. But luckily the old edge can still be custom tuned into a PHP gryphon to support any CAI...

Are you upgrading something?

I'm thinking long tube headers are in my not to distant future, and I'm hoping they can just "tweak" them into my existing tunes..
