Good work, I too bought an Edge (well a Griffen actually) for this and other advantages. I am a gauge junkie and need to know what my vehicle is doing. If you don't already have a programmer then that may have been a better option at least for the towing programs.

I got a little jumpy and bought an used SCT Tuner before fully understanding what I'd be missing out on monitor wise. I may end up circling back and getting and Edge if I can find a good price for one that tunes and monitors.

I got a couple of custom tunes from MPT. Just loaded a Performance Tune yesterday, have not driven enough to tell if there is a big change. I also got a Towing tune I'll use over Thanksgiving week. Hoping for the best.

Very cool. I have a sct tuner but it doesn't read tranny, i dont think. But this looks good and i would think it should be pretty accurate too.

Went on both ebay and amazon and there are several ELM 327 products. Can you provide a link to the specific one you ordered? Thanks!

For Apple products, you can use a Wifi ELM327 and the DashCommand app. That's what I'm using.

I'm going to be doing a 2,000+ mile tow over 6 days in about a week. I'll be pulling a car on a Uhaul auto transport with a 5.4L 2006 SCREW from TX to WA.

I was wondering what everyone's opinions are regarding the best product for gauges and temps. Specifically I want something for the transmission temperature, and not too expensive. Preferably one that uses Bluetooth and a phone app - I have an Android phone. Any help is appreciated!

The combo we are talking about in this thread is the one you want. Just a warning based on my experience. You temp will climb pretty high when you are climbing hills. Don't freak out when you see it, but if you start to see it go higher than 225, either slow down or pull over. Mine regulated well in that as soon as climbs were over with, it would settle back down to under 200. This was in 100+ degree Nevada weather. My truck has the tow package with the transmission cooler with the 9 rows. Good luck on your trip.
