Plasti dip is great, no problems with it at all, but why not just paint it with some krylon fusion?

Plasti Dip is a vinyl that comes out of a spray can. You can buy is in many different colors from dipyourcar.com, or just generic black at Home Depot, Lowe's etc. The advantages to dip over paint is that you can just peel is right off if you don't like it, and you can just put more dip on coats that are already dry. Also, you do not have to remove emblems, or mask completely off. For example, when doing your emblems, just mask off an area about two inches away from the emblem, and after the dip dries, you can peel it and it will cut itself in a nice clean line. I would do 4 or 5 coats with 15 minutes in between coats and 30 for the last coat. Hope this helps

It probably won't last very long on a gas door, a drop of gas on plasti dip will wash it aawy like water.
