Dual Exhaust in front of rear tires??
So I am on my second exhaust system on my 06 scab 5.4 since i bought it new. I live in chicago area and we have a s4it tone of salt through our winters. it wreaks havoc on the exhaust. I regularly wash my truck so no issues there. i know you guys will say go with a stainless system(which i just may) but is it possible to have the exhaust exit out on either side of the truck in front of the rear wheels. I know it can be done on the passenger side..but why not on both...gas tank for one i know...hopefully you guys can help shed some light on this inquiry..

This is better suited for a good muffler shop to determine. As you said, the gas tank may be in the way on the drivers side to get a decent bend to make that pipe exit in front of the rear wheel.
There's most likely a reason why the pipe(s) are routed in front of the passenger side rear wheel when folks do it this way, or purchase a kit for this; it can't be done cleanly or easily on the drivers side.
And since you have to drive in the winters with all that salt, keep in mind that the rear tires are going to sling that salt onto the pipes that are in front (or rear) of the rear tires. If you are spending more money to do it this way, then you are not any better financially. May be best to have the pipes go straight back and exit under the rear bumper, or keep it to just one single pipe for cost reasons.
Or, move to Florida! We don't need no stinkin' salt, except on the beaches, drinking margaritas!

I don't think you'd want a hot metal tube running right next to the fuel tank and fuel lines.... If you wanted a split side exhaust it'd have to exit after the rear wheels. I live in Utah so I feel your pain with the salt haha. Between the salt and going up in the mountains my exhaust pipe/tip behind the rear wheel got destroyed. I went with the SLP exhaust that exits before the rear wheel and couldn't be happier. I think it sounds great and it was a breeze to install. And it has a life time warranty.

I was a little worried that I'd get the awful "drone" sound at certain rpms and that it'd be too loud and annoying inside the cab but surprisingly no obnoxious drone AT ALL and it's quieter inside the cab than the flowmaster that was on originally, but when you get on the throttle it sounds clean and mean IMO. And no fumes or exhaust coming into the cab

One, both pipes exit on the passenger side (which I like); the OP was initially interested in having it on each side, but looks like he too likes this.
Two, if this is going on a two wheel drive truck, you have to cut 5 inches off the "Y" of your stock pipe, and install a different hanger. No problem for a muffler shop to do.

Right now as it stands I am running a cat back system with no mufflers. This thing has a rumble and I love it. Like Bucko stated, I do like the Side exit on the passenger side looks clean and sporty. plus cleans up the rear end so (since we have a ton of snow here) if i back up over a pile of snow I shouldn't have to worry about the pipes bending, getting jammed with snow, etc.. thanks guys
