Buy a Optima Yellow top and a good capacitor....

I'm guessing you are wanting to do this for an audio system?

A yellow top and a good capacitor should do you fine, unless you are doing some serious db dragging....

If you are wanting to charge them both off of the alternator, go visit your local camping supply store or motor home shop. They can set you up with an equalizer charging ststem that will not drain one battery off of the other, but rather charge each one equally.

I want to use it to run offroad lights. I have 7 200 watt offroad lights up front. When they are all turned on the battery drains pretty quick. Plus a louder system is always a plus

I'd try a good battery first. There is a huge difference between a yellow top and the factory battery or some $60 battery that you buy from wal-mart...

They aren't cheap, but they are the best battery out there.

And as far as NO CAPACITOR goes. They have their uses, they are a storage device!!! Just like a ACCUMULATOR in a hydrualic system they take away the PEAKS and the VALLEYS and IN TURN EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY AND REDUCE STRAIN ON THE ALTERNATOR....

look into kinetik or powermaster batteries, if you have the money get a single d 3100 (powermaster) or a kinetik 2400 and you wont have to worry about any of that
