I think I can get the swing case at Browns truck Access in Decatur Il for $200.

Default free swing case

Just received my '06 supercab and my first post here. First off some great info to be found, thanks to all the posters.

I ordered one of the Undercover hard tonneau covers, I had on on my last truck ('04 Tacoma) and loved it. They had a special going where you get one of the swingboxes for free with a cover purchase. I will let you know my impression when it gets here. I was looking to get one of the cage type tailgate extenders though which will not work with the swingbox. Will have to see when it gets here.

Thanks again for all the great info,

Thomas

Du-Ha looks like a great product. I actually have my subs underneath the seat so this won't work for me, but it is great for a guy who has a family and needs more storage space.

That's the issue I face, I've got the ford gate extender and with it mounted, you can't use the swingbox, same would be true of the truck box above, though it appears from the photos you could set that up either between the wheels and the gate, or between the wheels and the cab.

I'm looking for more of a hard case type toolbox - Tractor Supply has a couple options in the $80 range - that I plan to put up at the cab. I use the gate extender to keep cargo I need to reach quick near the gate, but don't want to block that area with a toolbox.

Just looking at the pics it appears the truck box uses those cargo bars that screw/expand into place. Personally I've never had a lot of luck with those holding tight, but that's just me.

Here's a crazy thought -- could you reverse mount the swing gate so it fits between the wheel wells and the cab and then would swing out flush with the back of the cab --- like a traditional cross bed tool box, but it would fold/swing out of the way?

The cargo bags that I installed on mine you can place anywhere in the truck bed; it's universal so you can move it from a F-150 to say a Ford Ranger in a matter of seconds which is the reason I liked it. The only down side is it's not metal so if someone breaks into the truck simple pocket knife can get into it; but most people will have the hard tonneau so with that and a locking tailgate it'll be hard. I liked the swing case but it cost too much and didn't have nearly as much space / storage
