Default Dropping my truck suggestions

I want to drop my 06 f150 2xw currently it has 275/55/20 tires. I do not plan on changing the tires as I just got two of them newly installed. I wanted to hear your opinions on how to drop it. I do not want to lose all the payload capability nor sacrifice much ride comfort. I am also debating whether to drop 2/4 or 3/5. Your opinions would be great!

Note: I do not want to just lower my truck, I would like to keep the performance the same if not improve it. I dont go off-roading although I would love to, I am looking for a street ride.

Thanks!

There are several kits for the year truck you have. You'll be fine on a 2/4 and honestly you should be ok on a 3/5 as well. The 04-09's have pretty big wheel openings so you shouldn't have any clearance problems.

I installed a 3/5 Belltech kit on a buddy of mine's 2005 F-150 and he's running 22's and had no clearance problems.

Hey HIA,

I used the Eibach kit to drop my 04 2" up front and 3" in the rear. I'm running 285/50/20's and have been happy with the results. I use my truck to haul dirt bikes and other stuff occasionally. I have never had a problem with scraping or rubbing tires or bottoming out. It was pretty easy to do the install myself, the only part I needed help with was compressing the springs to switch the coils up front. Its always good to see more lowered trucks here in the forum, I think you'll be happy with how much better your truck will handle in the turns after you're done with the drop. As far as where to get the kit, I suggest shopping around places like Ebay and other online sources, then compare it to Jeg's or Summit. If you find a price lower than theirs, they will match it and Jeg's has free shipping (not sure if Summit does).
