driving lights behind grill
So, trying to figure out if they should be on there own switch or if i can tap into the headlight switch. Anyone have any suggestions or info?

you really want them on their own circuit, 14 gauge stranded wire, FUSED at the source, and switched with a relay. If you want to use the factory fog light switch to pull the relay that's fine, the relay has a low current draw.

put them on there own switch. i did. check it out. one for the middle light, one for the two outside lights. i hooked it up to my radio power. so if the car is off, the lights are off too. no dead battery by mistake.

Same question in two threads? You are allowed to drive with them as long as there isn't anyone coming. Depending on where you live, they can help save you from running into something big and hairy. Lots of people up here have them, but then again, we can drive for 4+ hours without seeing anyone else. (done it, several times).

When i mounted my piaa's i didn't want to have seperate switches in my cab, so I tossed the piaa wiring harness, went to Pep Boy's auto store and bought a wireless remote kit and mounted them with that and then used the homelink in my visor and programmed it for the wireless key fob. Clean and simple and no wires/mounts in the cab area.

I just did mine with the wireless thing from Pep Boys, I think it was around $35-$40... I don't have home link so I just use the remote they have with it. Four channels and they can be changed to momentary (so if you want to put a horn on it later, my plans at least). It is made by a company called Pilot Automotive. I found it in the Riceriffic Section at PP. I was there looking for switches and found Pilots 4 switch pad, was going to get that until I saw the wireless controller. The other thing is that it has 4 15 amp relays built in if you want to use those instead of other relays.

The top switch is what I was going to use but then got the second one.
And for the power, it all stays under the hood.
