Default Driver door dead! Help.

My entire door electrical is not working on my 2007 fx4. Radio don't shut off when I turn it off and the dome light don't come on. When it is off if I hit down on the back driver window and the door chime and dome light come on along with the backlight for the odometer. Need some help, anyone ever encounter this?

Have you checked any of the wiring that goes to the door, it is notorious for having breaks there. Check that and get back to us. Good luck.

^^^^^i agree, my passenger window stopped working (front and back) at different times and sure enough the wires inside the rubber boot (in the door jamb) had totally been cut in half. A but connector and 5 minutes later they worked again. One of them I had to add a 2" piece of wire.

Checked all the wires in the door. removed the boot and all look good no separation. What else could be the problem? Like I said before when the key is in and I press down on the diver window down or up the chime comes on and the dome light comes on. Where do I go from here? Should take off the panel? Sorry not the back driver window button.

When you looked at the wires in your door, did you check for power or check continuity? A visual inspection might not show you what you need to see. It also sounds like you may have a short inside a connector. If your window button is making your chime go off, it sounds like a short. If you've got a meter and know how to use it, I'd look at it again and verify that all wires are continuous and verify you're not getting any cross over from your window circuit to your chime. Electrical problems are always a pain since they're not easy to see. Good luck.

Yea especially when you don't know jack about electrical. I'm very mechanical but when it comes to this kind of stuff I'm clueless. Thanks, I might just give in and take it in to fix.
