Default Is this the dreaded cam phaser sound! VIDEO!!

Heyyyyyy

So, this sound ONLY happens when at about 1k - 1.5k rpm OR there is a bunch of strain on the engine... like in 4x4 or going up a hill or lots of weight in the bed.
ALSO, can not hear it at all when idling

lemme know what you think,
I also need new plugs if this matters, coming soon.

I don't think so considering it only does it when revving and not at idle. I own a 2006 and ive only heard a couple of trucks with bad cam phasers so i'm not positive if this is or isnt. And they all only made the noise at idle. Also, I'm 99% sure the cam phaser issue was only the 04-05, and you have an 06? but i could be wrong.

I read somewhere on here that the guy "THEPRODJECT01" had a cam phaser go out in one of his trucks, if you talk to him he can probably tell you if it is or isnt, i personally have no clue

Cheese n rice. My 2.3T made that sound when I spun a rod bearing, I'd freak out a little if I didn't know about the cam phaser issue and I heard that from my 5.4.

If it's the ticking sound your referring too ford claims thats the injectors and it's considered normal. If it's more like a knock (not to sound like a smart ***) check your oil I'm saying this cause my truck seems to drink oil and when it starts to knock like that it's about 1 to 2 qrts down.

I can't tell much from the video but it sounds to fast to be cam phasers. Cam phaser noise goes away around 1200 rpms.
