drain plug location

I just thought it was easy to tell. There are two pans under there. One on the engine and one on the transmission.

But guys are right, first time is better to ask questions.

Not sure about the 2016, but I know the previous gen ecoboost had some type of plastic shield you have to remove to drain oil.

I can see that being pretty stange when looking under there for the first time.

My folks never did any of this so I had to learn the hard way . He's smart-- he asked . Thank god for the internet and the forums it got me thru the whole timing job ,lifting cams and changing lash adjusters . Everyday I learn something new .

Just in case you look at this post before posting in the 2015-2016 section, the 2016 oil drain plug should be on the side of the pan instead of the bottom, remove the shield cover, and look for a yellow plastic plug (at least it is yellow on mine). If it isn't yellow plastic on yours, it is a plug that you just insert the 3/8 head from your ratchet handle into the plug, no socket necessary. Good luck.

Thanks Tom! It's actually half painted blue and it's a 15mm socket. It's amazing how things can vary from one year to another.

Glad you found it, I guess that's the difference between your 3.5 EB and mine, I have the 2.7 EB.
