Default Door Speaker Install

Gonna be doing this weekend. Wandering if I should put some batting in before I install them? Also need to know the wire colors for positive and negative if anyone's got em.

Not sure of the color off hand (just messed with mine this weekend too...), but if you're not cheap get the adapters. They plug into the stock connector and have the female spade connectors that are most aftermarket speakers. I think they are $15/pair (one pair for front, one for rear).

Oh yeah, you can get them at Best Buy.

Just did my front pair and spliced/soldered... Didn't feel like getting adapters as I am not planning on putting the stock speakers back in.

But, if I was going to do it again and was patient, I would get the adapters. There's not a ton of excess wire back there to solder too so its a little tight.

I bought the adapters and they were wired wrong (out of phase). I had to cut the terminals off and solder on new ones, should have just cut the factory harness and done this from the start.

I bought 1" dome speakers from eBay for $6 and made a metal bracket for them wired them into the door speakers and it made a world of difference. I have alpine type S speakers with a 10" kicker sub and can't believe how $6 POS dome speakers helped that much. I would highly recommend.

Hmmm very interesting. I like the idea. Gets the sound up higher I guess.

The correct term for this instance is "polarity", not phase.

Phase is the relation of time between two identical signals.

Not trying to be pedantic but my job requires me to know the difference between the two.

I did similar but I went Focal components and put the tweeters in the same spot. I like them there better as well. I can't say the way I fit the tweeters looks as good though hahaha. Nice job on the adapters!
