Default Door keypad issues

Hey guys,
I am new to the forum and new to a f150. I recently purchased a used 2005 f150 fx4 that came with only one key. The truck didn't have the card with the 5 digit code in the glove box, however, through searching this forum, I was able to find the code in the passenger side kick panel. My issue, I have tried to reprogram the truck so that I can set my own code. I have read a few ways of going about this and have had no luck. First, to set my own code, I entered the factory code then pressed 1-2 and entered my desired code and that didn't work. So then, I tried to erase what ever code the previous owner had to bring it back to responding only to the factory code. I tried entering the factory code then pressing the 1-2 button within 5 seconds then pressing and holding the 1-2 for 5 seconds and nothing. Then I tried entering the factory code pressing 1-2 within 5 seconds then pressing 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time within 5 seconds and I hear my locks actuate but they do not unlock. And then when I enter the factory code after that, it doesn't unlock. Wouldn't be to much of an issue, however, I only have one key and if I lock it in the truck I would like not having to call a lock smith. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm curious why you dont leave the factory code and just use that. Are you afraid of the previous owner? i have mine default also confirm you tried your factory and it unlocked with no problems?

I have no problem using the factory code. The truck is not responding to the factory code. I enter the code and it does nothing.

Do the buttons light up when you push them? Also, even if you program a new 5 digit code, the factory code will ALWAYS work as well as the personal code. Ford would have to do a re-flash to get the factory code changed.

I think the master code # is on the BCM, on the back wall of the cab behind the rear seat. I THINK this code always works, even if the original factory door code has been changed.

If you have the SCAB, that back seat is fun to take off, there is a video on this site somewhere on removal. Good luck.

Yes! Use the one provided in the back. i had a code on the side panel also and it wasn't the right code. I think it was a paint code of some sort. I removed the seat in the back and sure enough it was the correct code.
