I have tryed mothers back to black and armor all with no go on mine just wasting it lol so I stopped using it and will use it on other stuff

Arrow

I read on this site, to use simple green, and then go over it with Turtle Wax Ice polish.

It works on the rubber around the windows.

I think i watched that same video about the heat gun. It was on jeep flares. Never tried it myself, but it sure seemed to work out nice on that jeep.
For my handles, i am PTM them. Instead of taping off, or removing them, i am picking up a set of those ugly *** chrome stick on covers, scuffing them up and having my body shop guy spray them. Peel the tape, stick on, and call it a day.

That's certainly easier. If I was gonna PTM them then I'd go that route.

Default Heat gun....

I bought a '04 FX4 2 weeks ago, been really bothered by the faded plastics...All really bad...Tried McGuire's, it washed out in a week in all the rain we're having in Ga....Checked with the local Line-X guy, he said his product might hold to the step rails ($100 each, if I pull them off !!!), only because he could encapsulate them, everything else (bed rail caps, bumper cover, door handle covers) would be a waste of money...After looking at buying new everything , I just now tried the "Heat Gun" method on the drivers side end cap on the step bars, so far it looks GREAT !...I'll wait till I get it washed really good and have a nice , dry day to do the rest...

I do know that heat(hair dryer) works on the "white crud" that accumulates on old plastic fishing lures, been collecting for years...Heat 'em up, wipe the stuff off that melts, it'll be years before it builds up on 'em again...

Default Heat gun...

WOW !!! Just did part of my windshield cowling...AMAZING !!!! While I've been lurking when I needed to (Last ride was a '92 XLT Scab 6.5' bed that I bought in '95, 512,000+ miles when I got out of it yesterday !), I've never posted pics on this site...I use Picturetrail, if anybody can help me post I've got some pics of "warming up" my truck with the heat gun...

I figured some of it out...
