I was thinking about this on my son's truck as well. The only thing I am concerned about by painting the is the paint wearing off..... even with Krylon Fusion. One thing that worked to an extent on the bed rail covers was creamy peanut butter. It's slightly abrasive so it removes contaminants and the peanut oil helps protect against uv rays. Sounds nuts (no pun intended) but it helps depending on how bad they are.

Seen it done but just thought do the paint and forget about it. I've talked to people that have had the paint for years with no issues on fender flares

Painted my flares, front and rear bumper plastics, bedrails, and my toolbox on my ranger and never had a problem. The satin black has a really nice finish.

The trim around my windows are faded also and want to dress/refresh them up a bit also...Could I do the same with the trim as the bedrails? My trucks body is in good shape and really shines when you wax it just a few things are dull faded and throws the truck off I think n its driving me nuts lol

I know what you mean about the window trim. Mine looks like crap also. Not sure what to do to fix them besides getting new ones. With those being rubber, I'm not so sure that paint or plasti-dip would hold up.
Mine stand out in a bad way also, bugs the hell out of me.

^^aggreed^^ even that "meds dye" I keep bragging about for everything else, is no help for the window trim.

keep this post up, im sure a lot of people are in the same boat. Ive tried every back to black product out there, they all work for a week or two then after the first good rain, it runs down your paint. I rhino lined my running boards a few days ago and they look awesome. But after using the clay bar and wax this weekend, I will be doing my windshield coil, bed rails and would like more advice on the window trim and door handles before ripping them off.

Duplicolor has a trim paint that works well also Color Bond in Black. The Color Bond has a molecular bond that won't chip or peal off of clean plastic.
