Default dome light gone haywire

hey, have a question, I have an '08 F-150 XL regular cab, plane jane truck, no power windows or locks, in the winter when the truck would get nice and warm, after about 25-30 minutes of driving the dome light would start flickering on and off. Now that it's warmer out it's on most of the time, when it does this I can hear a clicking sound from the steering column. Anyone else had this problem or something similar? I can just turn the light off but, I'd like to solve the problem if I can, thanks,

My light will flicker sometimes or does 2-3 different brightness levels. And there's been times where the light turns off when I lock the truck then when I come back out to the truck the light is on. But I have the dome light pictured above ^^^^

If you're hearing a clicking sound from the steering column area, then it sounds like you might have an issue with either the wiring in that area, or the dimmer switch.

I'm just throwing this out there but there might be a relay under your column that might need to be checked out
