Island Truck

I have a 2004 F-150 that I got used in 2010. When I got it, the parking brake didn't work and it still doesn't. It's as if it is adjusted all the way loose. I push down the pedal and the brake just doesn't tighten up.

Bakc when I originally got the truck, I spent a little time searching the forums and convinced myself that if I did tighten the parking brake back up, I would have the problem where it doesn't release and there's some sort of problem with violent rear end shaking.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? Do any of you with 2004's have parking brakes that actually work?

Yes but it wasn't. You can adjust through the back but I wasn't successful. I removed disk and adjusted so it went back in snug. Now they work and no bed rattle issue

I adjusted mine through the hole. It took some time, but I got it. It works great now.

my emergency brakes worked when i first got my truck but stopped working after i replaced the brakes. when i pulled the right rear rotor off, the pad cracked and fell off one of the shoes and i decided i didn't need it since the entire time i've owned my truck i've only used my e brake once and i didn't really have to.
