Does anyone run mobile one oil with a motorcraft filter?

the only reason to use a motorcraft is the price. i buy them because its a premium filter with a $4 price tag, its not going to fit or perform any better than any other premium filter such as bosch, wix, or any other purolator.

think about the hundreds of thousands of f150s driving around with performax oil filters from quicky lube. retail price is around 1.99 so you can bet the quality is a little lacking and they are still going strong.
FYI for anyone wondering only use motorcraft filters for our trucks because there is a TSB concering problems with aftermarket filters not working well with these engines (5.4). I've run this setup and haven't gone back. Only other oil I would use is amsoil because it's just simply better but it's to hard to get ahold of (I don't feel like ordering it everytime to change my oil).

granted some cheaper filters have a nitrile adbv instead of silicone, but all the premium filters have a silicone ADBV! all the motorcraft is is a rebadged purolator classic with silicone ADBV, hence the S. a pureone, M1, napa gold, any bosch,or wix will have a silcone valve and better filtering capabilities.

but in reality there has never been anything wrong with filters, just fords design and oil specification

I use nothing but motorcraft 5w-20 and a motorcraft filter (actually believe filters made by racor) never been a mobil 1 fan just my preference. I will never use quaker state (destroyed my fathers 289 hi-po in his mustang and i refuse to use it). Just my personal pfeference. I also would never run more than 6k miles between oil changes with ANY oil as too many deposits and build up occur (have seen it countless times with many different types of oil) people change their oil every 15k it sludges up (regular and synthetic oils WILL sludge) then they wonder why ford denies warranty. Just my personal EXPERIENCES.

Quoted from other site!!

+1. I've owned BMW 6, 8, and 12 cylinder cars and they are reliable and smooth (although the 12 cylinder engines are very complicated) but they must be maintained. A friend has a subi with 160k and has done basically no maintenance. A BMW would not tolerate that. Same for all German engines, Porsche, Mercedes, VW/Audi. They are built to run at high speed all day long but they need to be maintained.

Haha what this guy doesnt realize is the subi engine is a porsche engine. Haha.

i am running mobl 1 with the motorcraft filter, but am thinking of going back to the motorcraft synthetic blend 5w20. i get the rattle for a few seconds at startup and am wondering if it's from the synthetic oil?.
