Post Do you know this clicking?

Here's something I've been trying to figure out lately:

On my 2005 5.4L XLT (4x4) I get a small series of clicking noises from the front of my truck when accelerating from slow speeds up steep hills. (ex. going 10 mph on flat road, then accel. up steep hill to maintain or increase speed, this all happens between 8-15 mph). It sounds like the tranny shifting down really fast while under stress, but I just don't know. It will be in 2nd gear then I start to accelerate up very steep inclines and I will get 2 or 3 clicking sounds as the tranny shifts down to 1st. It almost sounds normal but I still wonder about it.
I do have the issue with my intermediate steering shaft making a clicking noise, but this is a completely different sound and the sound comes from a different place (not the steering column/dash area). This noise sounds like it is the tranny or the front hubs or something. Just had the hubs checked, they're OK. (maybe I should look myself, it's an easy job).
BTW, if you're wondering what I'm talking about with the intermediate shaft thing here:

TSB 05-15-1
CLICKING/TICKING NOISE FROM STEERING TSB 05-15-1

COLUMN—VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 5/31/2005

2004-2005 F-150
ISSUE

Some 2004-2005 F-150 (excluding Heritage) and
2006 Lincoln Mark LT vehicles built before 5/31/2005, may exhibit a slight clicking or ticking
noise from the steering wheel/steering column area
While driving the noise concern is typically heard below 40 MPH (64 km/h), over moderately rough road or parking lot surfaces.

ACTION
Verify the noise is coming from the intermediate shaft before beginning repairs. To verify, with the vehicle parked and ignition off, hold the steering column upper intermediate shaft with one hand and turn the steering wheel rapidly from side-to-side with the other hand. If there is a clicking/ticking noise, and at the same time a vibration feel of the intermediate shaft, then replace the intermediate shaft. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 211-04. If
no noise is heard, do not perform this TSB.

Continue with normal diagnostic procedures.
