Default Do you have factory installed Sirius?

After first considering going with an aftermarket head unit to get Sirius setup in my new truck, I've since decided to get a factory tuner and keep the head unit stock.

If you have Sirius as a factory installed option, would you mind taking some pictures of the location of the antenna?

I'll be doing the install myself, and while I know my way around car audio, I want as close to a factory look as possible, since I'm going the OEM route.

I parked next to an FX4 just like mine today, but it had factory Sirius (mine's aftermarket) The factory antenna is towards the front of the cab above the windshield on the passenger side (like on the GM trucks w/ XM.) If the Ford Sirius is vehicle specific, then you can drill a hole in the roof in that area. If the antenna is more universal and not intended to have a hole drilled, you can go through the 3rd brake light hole. It isn't factory looking but looks very good.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you snapping these pics.

So after seeing the factory location, I have a feeling that I can do better to make the antenna still functional, yet more inconspicuous.

I've actually even read people mounting the antenna inside the dash and/or on the firewall, under the cowl cover. I might try to go that route, depending on how well reception is. I know that on my last vehicle, which I installed Sirius in, I would commonly lose reception when I passed under overpasses, so I'd prefer to get as good of reception as possible.

Ranger....my long lost twin......have you seen many FX2's in our bright red color? I have seen a ton in grey and white, and a maroon color.

in all honesty I don't think it matters were the antenna goes you still will have areas were you will loose signal. I have sirius in my truck and I have xm in my work truck and I basically loose signal in the same places
