This is correct, I have a 2 1/2" and it is 1 11/16" tall.

If I were to guess ....that's a 3".

My guess is a 3" too. My 2.5 doesn't stick out of the top that much...

I stand corrected. Sorry for the misinformation... Installed mine over 10 years ago. I thought I measured them at 2 inches. The mind aint what it used to be!
