Default Do I have the 3 piece plugs?

So I'm familiar with the 3 valve 5.4 plugs that break and you need the extraction tool for, I have an 07 f150 with the 4.6 and when i searched for new plugs it shows a normal looking spark plug and the long 3 piece one, does anyone know if there is a way to tell what plugs I have without removing one? ie block number, vin number, or something on the engine? its an 07 f150 xl 4.6 4x4. Thanks!

I believe you do not have to worry about breaking them. That being said, good luck with some of the sucky ones.

Rock Auto shows all "old school" looking plugs available. Which one is best recommended, I have no experience there. Just relaying a bit of info

Not an expert but from what I've read don't think you have the s***t plugs the 5.4 had that break and the 4.6 had typical plugs that don't break. I'd definitely get Motorcraft brand though.

If you refine the seach by engine type, the 2 piece plugs should disappear. The above replies are correct about the 4.6 having a standard spark plug in them.

Nope, 4.6 has standard plugs and they really aren't bad to change. One of them in the back is a little more work, but it isn't bad if you have a decent set of tools, various extensions and universals.
