Disadvantages of straight pipes?
#21
You can go without a muffler to be really loud without getting rid of the cats, even in his original post op didnt say anything about removing the cats. No muffler but still with the cats is legal for emissions but maybe not sound ordinances, check local laws.

Funny you mention that.I just did exact opposite of what you want to do.I just bought my screw and it had straighties on it.The noise level was not the problem. It just sounds like ****** with Straighties so I put a Magnaflow on.It is too quiet now.I just installed some FRPP Headers last Friday and it helped a little(Not much)to get a little more noise back. The main reason for the headers was I had a cracked manifold on the passengers side.

the next best thing to no muffler is glasspack! mine is stock cats(will eventually take the rear 2 off) back to the cherry bomb and a custom dual tip which is gonna come off soon I think, itll be a single 3" exit out the side

hey man where in tally do you live and usually drive? lcso dont give 2 ****s, id say if your on campus most the time maybe to keep ur stock cats and cut the muffler and go easy on her around well patrolled areas but if your out here around chiles or down by woodville highway let her rip.

Okay, what should I do to have the quietest straight pipes. I want straight pipes because they are cheaper, but I dont want to be too loud because I like the sound of my intake lol
