I normally run Motorcraft 5w20 blended. Last week I put in Mobile One high mileage 5w30 full synthetic on preparation for a trip to NY in a few days. To be honest, I haven't noticed any difference. The motor didn't quiet down (it's quiet to begin with though). I'll go back to MC 5w20 when it's time. I didn't have any issues until it hit 190k. I replaced all the timing components about a month after I heard the first noise, so this truck will hopefully give me another 100k.

MC 5W20 is hard to beat. It's affordable, and it's quality. I run whatever is good for the money at the time. I just picked up some Penzoil Platinum from WallyWorld for $22.98, with a $10 rebate. $12.98 for PP is a better deal than the MC on that day. Myself, I just don't see the benefit of high-dollar synthetics unless you're going with a long OCI. But that's me, and the subject of oil is a dizzy frenzy of opinions...a swamp that I stay out of. I'm still waiting to see the report on the engine that blew up because they ran MC instead of an $8 per quart synthetic. But, it's your's money. Spend it and sleep well. Happy trails!
