Default Different types of headlights for the F-150

So i just got myself a 2006 XLT 5.4 F-150 today after owning a 2003 V6 Mustang that i went to hell and back modifying it from the ground up. Anyways, I'm in the hunt for a particular type of headlight, I've noticed the standard headlights are clear housing and clear lenses however I've seen some F-150s on the streets with what looks like a black housing and clear lens which I've made the assumption is a different stock headlight.

If my memory serves me correctly i believe I've only seen them on the STX body styles, but i could be way off.

Any clarification on model and year that these headlights were offered on would be nice as I'm looking to purchase a set, i feel like the black housing is a more clean looking headlight.

They're aftermarkets. Could be cheap ebay crap, but if you want to spend $200 for quality get the Hella Black headlights. Another route is baking your stock headlights and painting the hideous chrome in them.

Oh ok, that looks like the headlights I've seen around town. I didn't know if the genius' behind Ford did the same thing they did for the mustang (Clear housings for the 99-02, black housing for the 03-04).

Harley Davidson models had dark housings with clear lenses that look just like stock.

You can either buy those, or aftermarket look-alikes, or take apart yours and shade them. If you do a quick search, there are a few threads on it already.

How much did those Harley Davidson headlights run you?

And I've learned Ebay headlights are almost never the way to go, in my experience they are very low quality.

Also, is there a website that carries stock and quality aftermarket f150 parts, something similar to "americanmuscle.com".
