I run 0w20 Mobil 1 synthetic in the 4.6L with Motorcraft filter. Nice and quiet. Seems to have increased mileage slightly with a .3 MPG gain.

I'm running 5w30 right now. It's my first change with it though. I have ran 5w20 since 09 and I think the previous owner had Ford do changes with 5w20 since new.

My truck doesn't have a drastic cam phaser noise. So I didn't notice any difference in engine noise. But my truck did used to burn about a quart of oil every 1,000 KM (600 miles). I used to use the cheapest or on sale 5w20 full synthetic I could get, now I am hoping a better quality oil in 5w30 will help with the burning of oil. Time will tell!

When I bought my 04, I found this forum and it simply frightened me! That was years ago.
It's paid off and I just can't bring myself to trade it in. It's like a member of the family now.

Had the transmission and plugs fixed a couple of years ago and since then just routine stuff.

Enjoy your truck!

not raining on anyones parade, but, I ran into a rather large problem with mine. Leaving work a week ago and it lost ALL oil pressure and shut down. was totally my fault as I knew oil pump was going and I was waiting for my spot in shop. so, basically, $3000 lesson learned. luckily, I have access to rollback tow truck and loaner cars....lol...so, no tow bill or car rental....lol

The truck I bought actually had the cam problem and the motor was rebuilt under warrenty so the motor has very low miles on it. I love this truck though and can't wait to start modding it, I'm going to start with some 31s then I've been looking at a leveling kit (which height should I get), I've also been looking at headlights but I want somethimg that looks factory but has a black background if that makes since lol I also wish I could find a saleen grill, a company should really make a replica they would make a killing!

Thanks for your help guys!
Headlights you're looking for something like this if I understand correctly. Whatever you buy (unless they're factory Harley heads which are pretty expensive) I'd recommend putting silicon around the outside of it to give it a better seal. Several people have issues with aftermarket headlights letting moisture in. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2008-Ford-F150-Truck-06-08-Lincoln-Mark-Lt-Crystal-Black-Headlights-/380873629395?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AF-150&hash=item58add65ed3&vxp=mtr
As far as leveling kit I would go with a 2.5". I personally went with the Rancho Quicklift struts with some RS-9000XL's out the back. I needed new shocks and struts and had the extra cash laying around. Ride adjustable so you can make them harder or softer depending on your driving preference.

And a Saleen grill for you sir. http://www.smssuperparts.com/product...01-c12669a.htm
