Default Decision...

Ok. I want more out of my truck. I have two plans...

Plan 1.
I have 2 sets of Comp cams in my garage now, along with two sets of gears.. I would Jmod the tranny, intall the cams, and gears, along with taking the cats out and tuning it myself and of course dropping it with the FRPP 2/5 kit. This plan is cheap and will still give me a DD everyday and is safe. I don't need the truck SUPER fast as I have a mustang for that...but this I think would help wake it up and be fun as a DD...

Plan 2.
Leave it alone for now till I get my other DD up and running. Ex threw the clutch out in the 98 Wrangler... THen start the build. I will leave the motor stock save for getting some PI cams and degreeing them in the motor. Then I will be building a small single turbo kit for it. Something that will make NO more than 400rwtq...maybe a few more. my build, my design, and pretty cheap. Not as cheap as the stuff above...but it will have way more power potential...which makes me NOT want to do it. I don't need to hang a rod out of this thing and lose my DD status. Not until I have my Mustang up and running and Jeep up and running again...THEN I might think about it. But even then...plan 1 is cheaper by far, and I have been trying to save money. I know I can have the turbo kit done for pretty cheap...but then there is injectors, MAF, hot side, wastegate, flanges...etc etc. All in all, I KNOW it will be more to do the turbo part...but I will have more HP and TQ...but at the risk of blowing the motor up...esp if I don't nail the tune, or get a bad batch of gas...cams, tune and bolt ons will not destroy the motor unless you don't know how to put cams in and degree them...option 1 is safe option...

Anyway. Thoughts? Sorry for the long post...just wanted to see what most would do on here...this forum is a little different than most mustang forums as far as making the truck fast...

Thanks

Matt

P.S. Labor is my labor. I do all my own work...so figure that in...

why would you do any performance mods if you dont want if fast? im confused as hell. might as well drop the cash into visual mods and leave the engine mods for the stang

Yeah. Ill probably end up doing plan 1.

Then adding plan 2 later when money becomes more available...and when I build my extra 4.6 block I have laying around...so I can turn the boost up...lol...

Thanks guys!
