The cab corners on the supercrews seem to rust out. I just picked up a 2004 lariat that looks very well taken care , and its cab corners are gone. I would check it maybe that could help you negotiate a price .

True that, my 06 screw had cab corners starting to rust. I fixed them before they got too bad.

I brought her home last night! The truck was in better shape then I thought especially the inside.

The interior condition is what won me over. The seats look good and all of the electronics are working. Even the cruise control still works. The plus here is I don't think I'm going to have to speed much restoring the interior. The passenger side windows do not roll down which I figured because that's is a known problem with 04-05 trucks. The cab didn't have any rust on corners. The exterior is going to need work but I fine with that. The dents on the right of the bed is when a trailer backed into the truck. The biggest minus with the truck was that the left back door does not open. They say it was like that when they brought it. Who knows.

Mechanically the truck is ok far from perfect though. The engine still has it's power, I was passing people on the highway fine. The minus is that it does has the famous diesel/phaser sound and bog/moan sometimes. I going to try to the fix the bog/moan issue but I'm not gonna worry about the diesel/phaser sound because it only happen until the engine is warm. The engine is not overheating, and there are no leaks. The biggest plus about the engine is the "check engine light" is not own.

As far as the transmission goes the truck shifted fine, nothing out of the ordinary.

The guy wouldn't budge on the price at all. I tried talking him down but he wasn't going. I went ahead and brought it because I see a lot of potential in the truck. The engine operated good enough to where I feel it will hold up at least a year while I save money for a new/used engine. I really just want a new engine for piece of mind.

I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

My first mods is changing all the fluids/filters and saving for a new engine lol

Picks coming soon!

What up guys? I got picks below!

At work today.

All washed up

My favorite pick so far!

Some Interior Shots. Front seats look good.

Back seats look the really good.

Everybody thinks I got a good deal, so I feel good about it. Been riding all weekend without anything crazy happening, but I am going to park it until I get a tag. Even I after a tag, I'm still only going to drive around town until I put another motor end.

Think youll ever get it into a ford shop and have them just check out things to see if they can see anything that will have to be fixed sooner rather then later so you dont get stranded on the side of the road?

She cleans up nice, good buy I say!

Thanks! Honestly, I don't want to put much money into besides maintenance. I don't plan on driving out of town because I don't want to get stranded. I drove it home 4 hours when brought so I think I'll be alright driving around town for now. I feel the $100 - $150 diagnostic fee ford charges, I can put that in the savings account towards a engine.

I've already been price checking on engines but don't plan on buying one till the spring or summer. If the engine goes before then, I'll just park it.

Good call. I wouldn't waste money on "diagnostics" either. Drive it til it craps out then throw in another engine and your good to go. You got a good deal in my book and who knows, you might put another 100k on the clock before the engine gives out.
