Dead battery in TPMS reset tool
I finally got around to reset the stock wheels that I had put on for winter. Sure enough, the battery's dead in the reset tool. Whoever the manufacturer is, they spot welded the contacts to the coin battery. Plus the battery is one that no one carries, a 3 volt lithium CR2045. I carefully broke the welds loose with a box knife blade, and tried a CR2032 battery. (Same diameter, thinner battery) With a piece of tape on each contact, I reassembled the reset tool. I think it works better than when I first bought it.

in Florida and Texas, I have found shops called "The Battery Store". They carry every battery known to mankind it seems.
If you don't have one in your area, Google the battery (type in the battery number in their search). You'll find someone who sells it. Since you're using another battery, this won't matter. I hope the current (albeit tiny) doesn't do damage to the circuitry in your unit.
